Shortly I hope to present the family tree, which currently includes about 1400 names.
Below please find a rough list of my BENTSCHNEIDER ancestors as they are known to me. All places mentioned here are located in Mecklenburg unless otherwise mentioned. The first names by which the persons were called are underlined.
1. Generation:
Jochim Friederich BENTSCHNEIDER (?-?), day laborer, married on 10/25/1791 in Bredenfelde Sophia Christina Elisabeth SEEMANN (born abt. 1762 in Rosenow - 09/10/1825 in Teschow). They had 6 Kinder:
2. Generation: their oldest son:
Johann Friedrich Ludwig BENTSCHNEIDER (11/1/1792 in Bredenfelde - died between 1866 - 1873 in America?), worker and day laborer, married on 10/21/1814 in Scharpzow Marie VOSS (born abt. 04/04/1792 in Siedenbüssow, Vorpommern - 11/04/1862 in Teschow). They had 10 children. In September 1866, Johann Friedrich Ludwig emigrates at the age of 74 years (!) together with his youngest daughter Dorothea Marie Henrike, most likely to Michigan.
3. Generation: their second oldest son
Ludwig Carl Christian BENTSCHNEIDER (born 11/23/1815 in Scharpzow - died in America), worker, married on 10/31/1845 in Hohen Mistorf Carolina Henrica Friederica EGGERT, following the birth of their illegitimate son on 04/03/1842 Ludwig Johann Wilhelm BENTSCHNEIDER. Following the death of Friederica on 05/27/1852 in Krevtsee, Christian remarries on 07/27/1852, Sophie Marie Elisabeth Johanne PLEEMANN from Rothspalk. Christian, Sophie and Wilhelm emigrate on 03/31/1854 onboard of the vessel SCHILLER to America, where they settle down in Monroe Co., Michigan.
Fifth child of Johann and Marie:
David Friedrich Theodor BENTSCHNEIDER (02/22/1822 in Hohen Mistorf - 05/14/1873 in Teschow), day laborer at the Estate of Teschow, married on 08/05/1851 in Hohen Mistorf Marie Catharina Wilhelmine SCHRÖDER (04/05/1824-03/17/1859), with whom he had 4 children. Following her death he married on 10/21/1859 in Hohen Mistorf Sophie Marie Friederike ROLOFF (01/29/1831 in Hohen Mistorf - 02/06/1917 in Teschow). They had 6 children.
4. Generation: 3. child from the second marriage:
Wilhelmine Dorothea Friederike BENTSCHNEIDER (11/02/1861 in Teschow - died after 1908 in Hamburg?), maid on the Estate of Teschow. She had two illigitemate children (1884 & 1887) in Teschow, whose fathers’ are unknown. Before 1900 she went (together with her dauther Emma?) to Hamburg, where she got married twice. 1: To Mr. SCHÜTZE, who passed away in 1906. 2: On 03/10/1906 to Johann Friedrich Wilhelm Martin Buckow (born 11/30/1867 in Neuhof). Following this wedding she appears as the god mother of her grandchild Anita Dorothea in Hamburg in 1908. Following that date no further information exists.
5. Generation: 1. illegitimate child:
Ernst Carl Friedrich BENTSCHNEIDER (12/09/1884 in Teschow - 02/10/1946 in Hamburg), worker on the Estate in Teschow, later carriage driver in Hamburg. On 03/23/1907 he marries in Hamburg-St. Pauli Anna Margaretha SCHMIDT (02/06/1886 in Neu-Wulmstorf - 01/30/1963 in Hamburg). Since 1908 he is first listed in the Hamburg Addressbook in Amandastr. 46, where his first two children Erich Willi Peter (1907) und Anita Dorothea (1908) were born. In 1909 their third child, Ernst Walter, is born. The marriage was divorced on 07/07/1919 in Hamburg - following his return from WWI with a sexually transmitted disease. He moves to Bredenbek in Holstein with his two son. They return to Hamburg after two years. The daughter Anita remained with her mother. Before his death he got remarried to Elise Catharina JOCHIMS. Unfortunately, I have been unable to find any details on this marriage.
6. Generation: 3. child:
Ernst Walter BENTSCHNEIDER (12/01/1909 in Hamburg - 07/28/1943 in Hamburg) married on 06/01/1935 Elfriede Mary Hanchen BOCK (11/15/1911 in Hamburg - 07/28/1943 in Hamburg) in Hamburg.
7. Generation: 2. son:
Walter Erich Gustav BENTSCHNEIDER (born 1937 in Hamburg), in first marriage wed to Margrit Gerda REX, in second marriage to Karin Ursula SCHRÖDER.

Andrea BENTSCHNEIDER, born 1968 in Hamburg
